Digital Jukebox

In 2005 Jeremy has been working on a prototype Digital Home Juke box (Audio Visual Entertainment Centre) which he has designed and made using computer touchscreen technology. The Digital Juke Box software allows fast access to thousands of tunes (which can be downloaded from the Internet)*.

The design has a wafer thin tambour screen cover and titling head allowing armchair remote control access including automatic activating wireless headphones for sociable listening. An awesome piece of handcraft.

The piece will be exhibited at  the Irish CREATE 2005 event where Jeremy Broun is a guest lecturer together with John Makepeace and Andrew Varah. (see below)

The prototype Digital Home Juke Box is a wedge shaped piece of wooden sculpture. Made of solid maple "planks" highlighted with a Danish shoulder, this awesome piece of innovative craft combines mankind's oldest natural resource with cutting edge technology. Far more than a giant size I-Pod this unique digital home jukebox allows access to tens of thousands of songs within three clicks, far more than you would find time to listen to.

Already ongoing is work on a revised bespoke edition of the bestseller
The Incredible Router which Jeremy says is unlikely to be completed before 2006.

The CREATE 2005 event at Fota House in County Cork in October 2005 celebrates the work of leading Irish furniture designer makers, combining an exhibition with a lecture programme. Jeremy Broun will be giving two illustrated presentations :
